This programme is set up to give young people an opportunity to work in professional kitchens. Hospitality and catering is a fast growing and ever changing industry so the variety of jobs is vast.
At Eastleigh College we do a variety of different courses:-
Level 1 - Professional catering and introduction to the hospitality industry

Why is this course for me?
During the course you will learn how to work in a professional kitchen and with some of the equipment.
You will also know basic skills such as -
Bread making, knife skills, how to butcher whole poultry, making choux pastry, experience service in a professional kitchen.
What do I need to sign up?
You need to have an interest and passion for the Food Service Industry and have a good work ethic to be able to learn in a professional environment.
You need to have determination, be open to new ideas, respectful of others, hardworking and a good team player.

How to apply?
Please fill in an application form available from your Careers Teacher, Area Careers Office or direct from the Adult & Community Learning Team, Eastleigh College, Chestnut Avenue, Eastleigh, Hampshire. SO50 5FS. Tel: (023) 8091 1270 or email acl@eastleigh.ac.uk.
All ingredients will be provided by the college for the duration of the course. Full payment is required when enrolling onto this course. The course is for 6 weeks and the full 6 weeks must be paid for in advance.
A chefs jacket and hat will be provided for the duration of your course. The payment includes a £15 uniform deposit, which will be refunded when the items are returned at the end of your course.

A place on your chosen course is not confirmed until all of the necessary enrolment paperwork is signed and any relevant fees are paid.
