You will be guided through your qualification by industry leaders with academic and experiential backgrounds who can support you to reach your full potential. You will have access to the colleges highly trained, friendly staff, study facilities and resources such as: library, access to computers, email, secure online classrooms and portfolios supporting remote delivery of the qualification. You will be supported to tailor your development specifically to your needs and the environment in which you work.
The Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support is a competence based qualification which has been developed with Skills for Health and healthcare employers.
This qualification is a mandatory component of the Senior Healthcare support Worker apprenticeship standard in England.
The qualification is aimed at senior healthcare support workers in a range of healthcare settings. This qualification is endorsed by Skills for Health.

What do I need to sign up?
Learners will have responsibility for providing person-centred, values-driven care and support for those accessing a service. The learner will work under the direction of a manager or supervisor but will have a degre e of autonomy. As well as demonstrating best practice, they will be working towards promoting and modelling it.
Learners may or may not have supervisory responsibilities for others. Learners will most likely be working in the following healthcare settings on the role as theatre assisstnace, community support workers, maternity support workers, mental health support workers, therapy support assistance and health care support workers on GP surgeries.
Is there anything else I need to know?
The course will be an online distance learning course where you will have set tasks each week and regular 1:1 supprt with your trainer.
The apprenticeship end-point assessment is the final evaluation stage of your apprenticeship program at Eastleigh College. It's designed to determine whether you have achieved the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to meet the apprenticeship standard and perform the job role independently.
Depending on the standard, we assess your competence through various methods, such as assignments, project work and observations. We will also evaluate your portfolio of evidence, which documents your learning and progress throughout your apprenticeship with us.
The end-point assessment must be taken at the end of your apprenticeship, and the results determine whether you have successfully completed the program and achieved the apprenticeship standard. Successful completion of the end-point assessment is required to receive certification.

A pioneering group of learners who left school last year wishing to work within healthcare have now completed the first year of a unique Health and Social Care study programme at Eastleigh College that features a dedicated work placement at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS).
Unique course for tomorrow's healthcare professionals
An innovative and exciting Level 3 Health & Social Care course has been launched for Sept 2020. The learning programme has been developed in partnership between Eastleigh College and University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, and offers a unique introduction to school and college leavers with a desire to work in a range of clinical healthcare roles including nursing, midwifery and occupational therapy. The study programme is the first of its kind, and is likely to be even more popular following the government's recent announcement of a £5,000 per year NHS bursary scheme.
