What are the entry requirements?

Candidates must have a reasonable level of numeracy and literacy skills; you must have at least 1 years experience of working in the care sector.

What does this programme involve?

You will be expected to gain 58 credits to complete this award, 28 credits from the mandatory units. These include Communication, Health and Safety and Personal Development. There are also 30 credits to be achieved form the optional units. These will be chosen with your assessor. It is important the chosen units are within your role as a Support Worker. City and guilds Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3 will be achieved on completion of the course.

How is the programme taught and assessed?

Once you have enrolled onto the programme you will be assigned an assessor that will visit you in the workplace regularly. They will complete assessment plans and reviews with you to keep you on target. They will support you in the collection of the required evidence needed for your qualification through different assessment methods such as; professional discussion, observations, written questions, verbal questions, witness statements and any assignments.

What else do I need to know?

This is a national recognised qualification and is ideal for anyone working in the care environment in a supervisor capacity. Completion of this award will provide you with the skills and knowledge to further your career in care

You will need lever Arch File, Dividers, plastic wallets and a pen.

How do I apply?

If you are hoping to undertake a workbased apprenticeship, please be aware that you will need to be employed in a relevant role in industry and your employer must agree to your training.
