What are the entry requirements?

There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. However, learners might find it helpful if theyve already achieved a Level 1 qualification. Learners must be 16 or have officially have left school to undertake this qualification.

What does this programme involve?

This qualification aims to raise awareness of:

-Mental health problems
-The processes and approaches involved in the care and support of those who experience mental ill-health

There are 5 mandatory units that are required to be successfully completed and they are:

Unit 1: Mental health and mental health issues
Unit 2: Introduction to duty of care in health, social care or children's and young peoples settings
Unit 3: Valuing equality and diversity
Unit 4: Approaches to care and management in metal health
Unit 5: Understand change and support in relation to mental health

Learners must successfully demonstrate their achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria of the units.

This qualification can be delivered either in group sessions, one to one or distance learning through the completion of assessment books and workbooks. Candidates can complete this course within 3 to 6 months.

How is the programme taught and assessed?

Self study, 1:1 support from your assessor.

This qualification is designed for a wide range of learners who wish to understand the approaches to care and support of those with mental health problems.

How do I apply?

If you are hoping to undertake a workbased apprenticeship, please be aware that you will need to be employed in a relevant role in industry and your employer must agree to your training.
