What career opportunities can this lead to?

Learners will be able to progress within their employment to senior administrative, team leading or management roles, or to roles in specialised areas such as customer service, human resources or legal administration. Learners will be able to progress to other Level 3 qualifications or Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Business Administration and or to a higher - level qualifications in team leading and management.

What are the entry requirements?

You must be currently employed in a Business Administrative role and have some responsibilities for supervising staff and administrative functions such as setting up and monitoring administrative systems, delivering customer service, or running projects.

What does this programme involve?

The Edexcel Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Business Administration (QCF) will be delivered in the workplace by an experienced assessor and have an assigned Quality Assurer. Learners will be required to complete 4 mandatory units worth 13 credits which are: Unit 1: Manage Own Performance in a Business Environment Unit 2: Evaulate and Improve Own Performance in a Business Environment Unit 3: Work in a Business Environment Unit 4: Communicate in a Business Environment Learners would then be able to choose from a range of optional units covering different administrative areas such as document production, arranging events and meetings or customer service, or in specialised areas such as human resources, parking, education and legal administration. Learners may specialise in one area or choose options from different areas. Learners will be able to take some units at Level 2 if they need to develop skills in a particular area. They will also be able to take some units at Level 4 in areas such as managing budgets, planning change or leadership and management.

How is the programme taught and assessed?

Once you have enrolled onto the programme you will be assigned an assessor that will visit you in the workplace regularly. They will complete assessment plans and reviews with you to keep you on target. They will support you in the collection of the required evidence needed for your qualification through different assessment methods such as; professional discussion, observations, written questions, verbal questions, witness statements and any assignments.

What else do I need to know?

This qualification is designed for a learner employed in an administrative role that has some responsibilities for supervising staff and administractive functions such as setting up and monitoring administrative systems, delivering customer service, or running projects. It is a work based qualification which will allow learners to develop their work skills and allow them to progress in their employment.

How do I apply?

If you are hoping to undertake a workbased apprenticeship, please be aware that you will need to be employed in a relevant role in industry and your employer must agree to your training.
