What career opportunities can this lead to?

These qualifications are work-based qualifications, which allows learners to develop knowledge, understanding and skills essential for working in a business and administration environment, such as communication skills, working with others and managing and improving own performance. Learners can progress to the Advanced Apprenticeship in Business Administration or Intermediate Apprenticeship in Team Leading

What are the entry requirements?

This qualification is aimed at learners who work in roles such as Administrator, Business Support Officer, Office Junior or Receptionist, in any industry. It allows non-technical support staff to have their role recognised within the organisation.

There are no entry requirements for this pathway in addition to the general framework entry requirements. The Edexcel Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Business and Administration (QCF) is
for all learners aged 16 and above who are capable of reaching the required standards.
Edexcels policy is that the qualifications should:
- be free from any barriers that restrict access and progression
- ensure equality of opportunity for all wishing to access the qualifications.

What does this programme involve?

This qualification will allow learners to develop, communication and working with others and employability skills, which are all essential for the workplace. There is a wide range of optional units covering different aspects of these, which allows the learner choice to select units in a specialist area, or to spread their choice of units across several specialist areas.

Mandatory Units:
1.Manage own Professional development within an organisation
2.Improve own performance in a Business environment
3.Work in a Business Environment
4.Communicate in a Business environment

How is the programme taught and assessed?

Once you have enrolled onto the programme you will be assigned an assessor that will visit you in the workplace regularly. They will complete assessment plans and reviews with you to keep you on target. They will support you in the collection of the required evidence needed for your qualification through different assessment methods such as; professional discussion, observations, written questions, verbal questions, witness statements and any assignments.

What else do I need to know?

Other parts of the Apprenticeship Framework include:
1.Technical Certificate - multiple choice exams
2.Functional skills Math, English and ICT at level 1
3.Employers Right and Responsibilities: a workbook

How do I apply?

If you are hoping to undertake a workbased apprenticeship, please be aware that you will need to be employed in a relevant role in industry and your employer must agree to your training.
