On completion, you can register as full members with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership & Management, and those with 3 years of management experience can apply for Chartered Manager status through the CMI.
What will I be learning?
An Operations/Departmental Manager is someone who manages teams and/or projects, and achieving operational or departmental goals and objectives, as part of the delivery of the organisations strategy. They are accountable to a more senior manager or business owner. Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities and job titles will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same. Key responsibilities may include creating and delivering operational plans, managing projects, leading and managing teams, managing change, financial and resource management, talent management, coaching and mentoring.

As an Operations/Departmental Manager you will manage a team and/or projects, and will be achieving operational or departmental goals and objectives, as part of the delivery of your organisations strategy. In this apprenticeship you will learn about how to manage projects more effectively and build a stronger understanding of key academic theories and principles. You will also look at areas such as:

• Decision making
How will my learning be enhanced?
The on programme learning will be driven by you and the breadth of your current knowledge. Your learning, development and progress will be monitored to ensure you are gaining new knowledge, skills and behaviours throughout.
Our team of professionals will deliver the training with a blended approach to enhance learners knowledge, skills and behaviours to include;
• 1 day a month attendance at Eastleigh College
• Online weekly lessons via our digital delivery platforms
• Directed study with remote delivery support

You will be supported throughout the apprenticeship, ensuring from the start you are on the right programme for you and we will work collaboratively with your employer to meet the required standards.
You will receive regular one to one sessions to deliver ''off the job'' training, coaching around the behaviours and on going guidance.
What do I need to sign up?
A minimum of a Level 2 in English and Maths is required - if you do not have this you will need to achieve this level prior to end point assessment.
Is there anything else I need to know?
The apprenticeship is assessed at the end of your on programme learning, this is called an End Point Assessment.
For the Level 5 Operations / Department manager, this comprises of:
• Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
• Project Proposal, presentation and questioning
