On completion, you can register as full members with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership & Management, and those with 3 years of management experience can apply for Chartered Manager status through the CMI.
This is a Roll on/Roll off course, so you can join at any time during the year.
What will I be learning?
An Operations/Departmental Manager is someone who manages teams and/or projects, and achieving operational or departmental goals and objectives, as part of the delivery of the organisations strategy. They are accountable to a more senior manager or business owner. Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities and job titles will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same. Key responsibilities may include creating and delivering operational plans, managing projects, leading and managing teams, managing change, financial and resource management, talent management, coaching and mentoring. Roles may include: Operations manager, Regional manager, Divisional manager, Department manager and Specialist managers.

As an Operations/Departmental Manager you will manage a team and/or projects, and will be achieving operational or departmental goals and objectives, as part of the delivery of your organisations strategy. In this apprenticeship you will learn about how to manage projects more effectively and build a stronger understanding of key academic theories and principles. You will also look at areas such as:

How will my learning be enhanced?
The on programme learning will be driven by you and the breadth of your current knowledge. Your learning, development and progress will be monitored to ensure you are gaining new knowledge, skills and behaviours throughout.
Our team of professionals will deliver the training with a blended approach to enhance learners knowledge, skills and behaviours to include;
• 1 day a month attendance at Fareham College for workshops ( a great chance to work with other managers)
- monthly contact with a qualified trainer for 2 hours a month (online)
You will receive a qualification with the CMI as well as your apprentice standard.

You will be supported throughout the apprenticeship, ensuring from the start you are on the right programme for you and we will work collaboratively with your employer to meet the required standards.
You will receive regular one to one sessions to deliver ''off the job'' training, coaching around the behaviours and on going guidance.
What do I need to sign up?
A minimum of a Level 2 Functional skills in English and Maths is required - if you do not have these, we will support you to achieve this during your time on programme.
Is there anything else I need to know?
The apprenticeship is assessed at the end of your on programme learning, this is called an End Point Assessment.
For the Level 5 Operations / Department manager, this comprises of:
• Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
• Project Proposal, presentation and questioning
The apprenticeship end-point assessment is the final evaluation stage of your apprenticeship program at Eastleigh College. It's designed to determine whether you have achieved the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to meet the apprenticeship standard and perform the job role independently.
Depending on the standard, we assess your competence through various methods, such as practical exams, assignments, interviews, project work, presentations or observations and we will also evaluate your portfolio of evidence, which documents your learning and progress throughout your apprenticeship with us.
The end-point assessment must be taken at the end of your apprenticeship, and the results determine whether you have successfully completed the program and achieved the apprenticeship standard.
Successful completion of the end-point assessment is required to receive certification.
