The qualification is with the Institute of Leadership & Management and all ILM learners receive a minimum of 12 months membership of the Institute of Leadership & Management, bringing access to a wealth of resources to support their leadership development.
Learners can benefit by gaining a range of key management skills and put these into practice in their own role. Learners can build their leadership capabilities, motivate and engage teams and manage relationships confidently. Learners can develop leadership and management skills using their own knowledge, values and motivations.
What will I be learning?
These qualifications are ideal for individuals who have management responsibilities but no formal training, and are serious about developing their abilities. This course particularly supports practising team leaders seeking to move up to the next level of management, and managers who need to lead people through organisational change, budgets cuts or other pressures.
The qualification is are made up of a wide range of units covering core management skills, such as understanding how to organise and delegate, plus skills in communication, team leadership, change, innovation and managing people and relationships.
Why is this course for me?
A Team Leader or Supervisor is a first line management role, with operational and project responsibilities or responsibility for managing a team to deliver a clearly defined outcome. They provide direction, instructions and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals. Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same whatever the role.
Your key responsibilities are likely to include supporting, managing and developing team members, managing projects, planning and monitoring workloads and resources, delivering operational plans, resolving problems, and building relationships internally and externally.

The on programme learning will be driven by you and the breadth of your current knowledge. Your learning, development and progress will be monitored to ensure you are gaining new knowledge, skills and behaviours throughout.

What do I need to sign up?
To register on to this qualification, learners are required to meet the following entry requirements:
• be 19 years of age or above
• have a basic level of literacy and numeracy
Is there anything else I need to know?
Each learners workplace should be suitably equipped for the chosen units to be delivered and assessed.
