What opportunities will this course give me?
This course is ONLINE and will allow you to study in your workplace with regular contact with a college tutor. On completion and achievement of the Business Administrator standard, progression opportunities will be provided and discussed with learners to further enhance their career opportunities, such as senior support or management apprenticeship programmes.
What will I be learning?
Business Administrators have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors. This includes small and large businesses alike; from the public, private and charitable sectors. The role may involve working independently or as part of a team and will involve developing, implementing, maintaining and improving administrative services. Business administrators develop key skills and behaviours to support their own progression towards management responsibilities. The apprenticeship has a typical duration of 15 months with a maximum of 18 months and apprentices are certificated on successful completion of an independent end point assessment. Apprentices are required to have evidence of Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths prior to undertaking End Point Assessment.
Why is this course for me?
Apprentices will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours through on and off-the-job learning and will complete ONLINE learning for 6 hours a week and then meet with an Eastleigh College lecturer once a fortnight to check your learning on a day release basis.
Apprentices will develop their skills in areas to include;
• Information Technology
• Record & document production
• Communication
• Planning & organising
• Decision making
• Quality
• Project Management
The Apprenticeship has a typical duration of 18 months and apprentices will be successfully certificated on completion of an independent end point assessment.
Additionally, unless exempt on entry, apprentices will be required to achieve Level 2 Functional Skills in English & Maths prior to undertaking end point assessment.
Your progress will be continuously monitored and supported by a trainer.
How will my learning be enhanced?
In addition to classroom learning, apprentices are welcome to join the college for any career events and guest speaker events. End Point Assessment will include a portfolio of evidence, a completion of a project that you will complete for your employer and an interview. You will be guided by your tutor to help you prepare for all this.
This is an ONLINE course, and you will need to complete 6-hours' worth on online training over the week, even on 1 day or spread over the week which work better for the employer.
Why is Eastleigh College my best choice?
Our teachers are committed and expert in their fields which ensures you learn from the best and enjoy a top-quality experience. Your progress will be continuously monitored and supported by a trainer. You will receive individual reviews which will keep you on track and allow for additional support if needed.
What do I need to sign up?
Entry is subject to interview and assessment. You will need to have relevant employment and be in a suitable position to utilise the skills developed during the course. In addition, you will need to have 4 GCSEs at grade C/4 or higher including English and Maths. A Level 2 in Functional Skills Maths would also be suitable. A candidate with a grade 3/D in Maths may be considered, however they will be required to complete a Level 2 in Functional Skills Maths.
Is there anything else I need to know?
The apprenticeship end-point assessment is the final evaluation stage of your apprenticeship program at Eastleigh College. It's designed to determine whether you have achieved the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to meet the apprenticeship standard and perform the job role independently.
Depending on the standard, we assess your competence through various methods, such as practical exams, assignments, interviews, project work, presentations or observations and we will also evaluate your portfolio of evidence, which documents your learning and progress throughout your apprenticeship with us.
The end-point assessment must be taken at the end of your apprenticeship, and the results determine whether you have successfully completed the program and achieved the apprenticeship standard.
Successful completion of the end-point assessment is required to receive certification.
