What will I be learning?
This is the Level 3 Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning City & Guilds 6090-30 leading to the End Point Assessment (separate course) allowing registration with the Engineering Council and EngTech status. The qualification will enable a candidate to demonstrate an advanced level of competence on complex refrigeration or air conditioning systems
Why is this course for me?
The days are split in to 3 sessions starting at 9am. The candidates will study theory over 2 sessions until 4pm; this will then be followed by an evening practical session from 4.30 - 7.30pm. You will be assessed in-college on areas of service, maintenance and installation of complex refrigeration or air conditioning systems for both the theory and practical elements.
Candidates will build a portfolio of work based evidence, known as the Apprentice Development Journal, which will be reviewed by our assessors and will be used as a part of the End Point Assessment.
What do I need to sign up?
Candidates should hold a current level 2 qualification in either refrigeration or air conditioning and have a valid City and Guilds F-Gas Category 1 certificate. You can work with minimum supervision and have a good record of safety.
You will need to complete an initial Maths assessment before enrolment on this course.
Is there anything else I need to know?
This course would suit those working in the refrigeration and air conditioning industries, looking to progress from Level 2 qualifications and wish to achieve a qualification that demonstrates advanced industrial/commercial competence. This level is ideal if you are an experienced refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump systems engineer and have technical skills and knowledge.
Safety footwear will be required for the workshop activities.
