What opportunities will this course give me?
The VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Treatments provides learners with the necessary understanding and skills to work as a Beauty Therapist. Candidates can progress into other areas of the beauty industry and or directly into employment or self employment with this qualification as a Beauty Therapist. Progression opportunities also exist in the form of specialist vocationally related qualifications at Levels 4 and 5.
What will I be learning?
The following units are covered:
Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon
Provide body electrotherapy treatments
Provide body massage
Provide facial electrotherapy treatments
Working in beauty related industries
Client care and communication in beauty-related industries
Apply Individual Permanent Lashes
Provide Nail Enhancements using Acrylic and Powder and Gel
Provide self tanning
You will also learn how to advise on beauty treatments and products, as in most salons and spa's you will need to handle queries and sell a range of products. The VRQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy is an internationally recognised qualification within the beauty industry and will allow you to gain employment within the beauty industry.
Your theory and practical work will be continually assessed throughout the course. A portfolio will be built up containing practical assessments, mandatory exams and workbooks. The course is a careful balance of theory and practical work.
An insight into the career prospects of beauty therapy can be gained when we visit the industry's largest Beauty Exhibition in London, as well as having visiting speakers from major product companies and a college department industry week.

What do I need to sign up?
If English is your second language, you must hold an ESOL level 1 qualification.
This qualification has the following pre-requisite:
• VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Specialist Techniques OR
• VTCT Level 2 VRQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy General OR
• An acceptable equivalent
All part time learners will be required to complete an English diagnostic assessment to aid in the theory element of the course. The link will be sent out to you through our admissions department and can be completed at home.
An information evening will be set up before the start date of the course in order for you to meet with your tutors and gain as much information prior to the commencement date of the course as possible. You will be informed of the dates by our admissions department.
Is there anything else I need to know?
If you have completed an NVQ/VRQ Level 2 Beauty qualification or the Beauty Specialists Diploma then this course is for you! You will be able to extend your knowledge and practical skills to cover the most up to date treatments in the beauty industry today.
The VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Treatments is a specialist vocationally related qualification. This qualification will complement the knowledge, understanding and skills, gained at Level 2 and is focused on producing highly proficient, professional Beauty Therapists.
This qualification will enable learners at a minimum to gain skills, knowledge and understanding required in order to perform a range of beauty therapy treatments including face and body electrotherapy, eyelash extensions, self tanning, massage and pre-blended aromatherapy. Learners will gain skills and knowledge and the understanding needed to perform professional beauty therapy treatments for clients via employment or self employment in the beauty therapy industry. This qualification is most suited to learners who wish to advance in their profession.
