Advanced apprentices, with support and opportunities in the workplace, can progress onto the Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in Accounting; or onto a more senior role such as Accounts Manager. Advanced apprentices may also progress onto higher education and/or entry onto qualifications relating to memberships in the following professional bodies: Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).
Entry is subject to interview and assessment. You will need to have relevant employment. In addition, you will need to have completed the Intermediate Apprenticeship in Accounting or have relevant experience* and either have GCSE grade C / 4 or higher in English and Maths or be able to demonstrate ability equivalent to, or exceeding Level 2 in English and Maths.

The Apprenticeship includes units relating to; accounts preparation, preparation of final accounts for sole traders and partnerships, cost and revenues, indirect tax, spreadsheet software and professional ethics
You will achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Accounting is awarded by the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT). The AAT is an internationally recognised professional body. Unless exempt on entry, you will also achieve Level 2 Functional Skills qualifications in English and maths.
You will learn through a combination of on- and off-the-job training. You will attend college one day per week during term time and spend the rest of your time earning and learning in the workplace.
The Apprenticeship has a minimum duration of 12 months.
Your progress will be continuously monitored and supported by an Apprenticeship Achievement Officer.
The Advanced Apprenticeship in Accounting is a progression option for those who have completed the Intermediate Apprenticeship in Accounting. It is also suitable for those wanting to progress onto achieve professional body qualifications.
Apprenticeships are open to candidates of all ages above 16 years. If you are aged 19 or older, your employer will be required to co-fund the apprenticeship.
