What opportunities will this course give me?
The finance, accountancy, business and communications skills developed in the AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting can lead to employment as an Accounts Administrator,
Accounts Assistant, Accounts Payable Clerk, Purchase/Sales Ledger Clerk, Trainee Accounting Technician or Trainee Finance Assistant.
The accountancy and finance knowledge developed in this qualification is also the underpinning knowledge needed for the higher-level accountancy and financial skills developed in the AAT Advanced and Professional Accounting Qualifications.
What will I be learning?
The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Foundation Certificate in Accounting is an ideal starting point for anyone wishing to pursue a career in accountancy or finance, covering a range of foundation accounting and finance skills in four mandatory units. This unit introduces students to the double-entry bookkeeping system, and associated documents and processes. In this unit students will learn how to set up bookkeeping systems, process customer transactions, process supplier transactions, Process receipts and payments and Process transactions into the ledger accounts.
Due to the progressive nature of study, this module should be completed prior to attempting any other level 2 module.
