Work based learning is a term used to reference qualifications which are related to industry specific job roles, that can be delivered fully in the workplace. This enables learners to not only gain a Nationally recognised Vocational Qualification (NVQ), but also the Technical Certificate, Employer Rights and Responsibilities, Personal Learning and Thinking Skills and Functional Skills, without having to attend college. Courses are tailored to suit you, as each framework offers multiple unit options to ensure you get the most out of the experience.

These qualifications allow learners to gain essential skills that improve their technical knowledge, and responses to challenges that may arise in the workplace.

As with the Colleges other workplace based courses, work-based Apprenticeships are especially suited to existing employees within an organisation, who are experienced and established within their industry. If you are new to your current industry, a traditional day/block release apprenticeship may be favoured, as learners receive additional support and formal teaching within the college environment.

Learners will receive regular visits from an assigned college assessor who will ensure timely achievement of their qualification through target setting, ensuring their ongoing progress. Visits will be scheduled to reduce disruption to the learners usual working.
