What will I be learning?
This course is ideal for a beginner or intermediate cook. The course is a great way to inspire learners to try new ideas for the whole family or for someone simply wishing to eat healthier and learn to do this in a fun environment. You will be taught how to make divine foods that are low in calories and full of flavour.
The dishes will be easy to prepare and the chef lecturer will show you knife skills and how to prepare food correctly.
A sample menu will consist of:
Starter - Country Minestrone Soup; Winter Pasta or Noodle Mason Jar Salad
Main - Classic Cumberland Pie with Mince Beef; Lighter Mushroom Fragrant Herb Risotto with Parmesan Crisp
Treat - Dark Chocolate Apricots
Why is this course for me?
This course will give you to the confidence to prepare dishes which are lighter and healthier to start you off in the right direction for the New Year. The course is essentially a practical class with hands on learning. There will be some group and individual instruction with demonstrations.
How will my learning be enhanced?
Workshops take place in a large kitchen classroom. Recipes will be included for the day so you can go away and make healthy, nutritious meals at home.

The tutor has over 20 years teaching experience, is a specialist artisan patisserie lecturer, and has taught a variety of cookery courses for Eastleigh College over a number of years.
What do I need to sign up?
There are no formal entry requirements in respect of this course. This course is ideal for anyone who would like to kick start the new year and achieve a healthier you!
Is there anything else I need to know?
Learners will provided with an ingredients list approximately 7-10 days before the start of the first class.
Learners will be responsible for the purchase of materials relevant to the course. Ingredients need to be purchased in advance of the lesson from the list provided.
