What opportunities will this course give me?
On this workshop we will be looking at a range of techniques to enable you to love your furniture for longer, show off your creativity and produce a unique piece of furniture.
We all have a responsibility to do what we can to reduce the global impact of making unnecessary purchases and we will show you how to reuse rather than replace.
Please take a look at our other free courses running later in the year which form part of our Community Learning Programme.

Is there anything else I need to know?
This is the perfect workshop for complete beginners who want to breathe new life into an old piece of furniture. A basic supply of paint, varnish, materials and equipment will be provided for you on this workshop. Should you wish to use specific paints, colours or enhancements, please bring these along to the workshop, making sure they are suitable for your chosen project.
Please bring a small piece of wooden furniture to the class such as a mirror, small cabinet, small chair, or wooden box, as well as any water based paint you would like to use to complement your colour scheme. Tester pots are a good and cost effective way of using a variety of colours. A new type of ''no seal'' chalk paint is now available which can be very effective.
Please also bring an apron and any of your own equipment you wish to use such as sandpaper, brushes, a scraper, and old rags. Please ensure you wear suitable old clothing.
You may wish to bring more than one item of wooden furniture as, time permitting, you may be able to complete more than one piece.
Please also bring light refreshments/lunch as there are only hot and cold vending machine facilities available at college on a Saturday.
