This course will teach you the fundamentals needed to complete those ongoing plumbing jobs around the home. Youll leave with the knowledge and confidence needed to take ownership of these tasks, providing both job satisfaction and a handy way to minimise the expense of hiring contractors to complete the work for you. Plus, youll be learning as part of an engaged, sociable and like minded group of learners, providing a brilliant opportunity to make new connections and expand your social circle.
Learners may consider further courses in plumbing, including the qualification courses offered by the college. Further information on these is available on the website and can be discussed with your tutor.

Why is this course for me?
The course is mainly hands on. There are no formal theory lessons, although systems and subjects are discussed in the workshop. Practical tasks will include repair of taps, valves etc., some soldering and bending of pipes, fitting and dismantling sanitary ware. Individual topics will be visited in depth as required by class consensus and where time allows. Home based projects can also be discussed as time allows.
How will my learning be enhanced?
The programme is delivered at a basic level to ensure all learning abilities are catered to. As the course develops, you will then be nurtured and challenged with extended tasks dependent on your own individual level, allowing you to hit your personal milestones.
What do I need to sign up?
There are no formal entry requirements for this course; this course is suitable for anyone who would like to have a basic knowledge of domestic plumbing and heating systems in domestic situations. The course does not offer qualifications to trade as a plumber.
