What opportunities will this course give me?
You will learn the basics of writing scripts for the screen, this includes both the formatting of the screenplays as well as what goes into them. This is an introduction to the subject, the first steps towards writing a film or television show.
What will I be learning?
You will be taught how to format your screenplay, as well as how the writing differs from traditional prose. How to write visually and present your characters.
You will learn via a PowerPoint lesson, group discussion and videos.
Why is this course for me?
This course is ideal for learners who have an interest in writing for the screen but have no experience in doing so, as well as learners who might be interested in signing up to either a University degree, or even the Eastleigh College leisure course.
How will my learning be enhanced?
The Tutor has been working in the industry for twenty years and has experience in writing for theatre, film and television. He has a degree in Scriptwriting for Television and Film, was nominated for the Peter Ustinov Award at the International Emmys, and recently worked as a development editor on a script that sold to a prestigious production company, and been produced and released.
The Tutor has been teaching Creative Writing and Scriptwriting for TV and Film for five years.
He specialises in working with new, and up and coming writers.
What do I need to sign up?
A desire to learn is all that is required!
Is there anything else I need to know?
You will need a pen and paper, as well a computer or electronic device with a strong, reliable internet connection to access this course.
