What will I be learning?
Areas to be covered include exploring the theory and practice of art; knowledge of the lives and techniques of artists and the political and social influences on their art.
Subjects to be covered include: 19th and 20th Century American Art.
Why is this course for me?
You will learn by analysing selected works of artists, designs and crafts people, looking critically at how art works in the selected context of time, social and political influences.
As a non-accredited course there is no assessment; a college certificate will be awarded on request.
What do I need to sign up?
There are no formal entry requirements for this course; this course is suitable for adults wishing to extend their knowledge of Art History.
Is there anything else I need to know?
Please bring a pen, notebook, and computer tablet if you have one, to the class.
There may be additional costs associated with the cost of visiting museums and galleries.
