What opportunities will this course give me?
Everyone feels anxious from time to time and this is completely normal. Sometimes, anxious feelings and thoughts can be overwhelming and affect our day to day lives, making it difficult to function.
There are many different triggers for anxiety, from both internal and external factors, such as health, social, OCD, panic attacks, and generalised anxiety.
This FREE anxiety workshop will help you learn more about anxiety and how to manage your feelings.

What will I be learning?
In this workshop, we will be focusing on:
The neuroscience of anxiety - what happens in the brain when you have an anxiety response: limbic system alarm bells, the physical symptoms of the fight/ flight response, how anxiety is triggered, the cycle of panic attacks.
Types of anxiety: awareness of situations in which anxiety arises, comfort zones.
Breathing and grounding techniques to lessen the effects of anxiety.
CBT based techniques to increase self-awareness and decrease unhelpful thoughts - including discussion and ideas sharing.
Freeze response and depression - a brief look at the latest theories.
You will primarily learn through discussions, observation and practice.
Why is this course for me?
Whilst you will not gain a professional qualification on this course, this workshop is a great way to find out more information around the subject of anxiety.
There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and participate in discussion with your tutor and other learners.
How will my learning be enhanced?
On this workshop, you will be supported by a qualified counselling tutor who will help you to understand your own personal anxiety triggers and how you can manage them.
Your tutor will be both friendly and accommodating, ensuring your experience on the course is stimulating and rewarding.
What do I need to sign up?
There are no formal entry requirements in respect of this course. The course is suitable for all adult learners aged 18 and over.
