What opportunities will this course give me?
If you lack confidence using the internet or would like to learn some basic computing skills, this Computing for Beginners course could be perfect for you. We will gently introduce you to the essentials of keeping safe online, cover popular software packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and improve your internet skills.
For a nominal fee of only £5 per person for a five week course, this course will enable you to improve your confidence when using the computer.

What will I be learning?
You will become more confident when using a computer. We will aim to cover:
• Using the mouse and keyboard
• Searching to find specific information
• Understanding the basic terminology used in computing
• Opening word-processing packages, input text, change fonts, editing and formatting
• Using email including attachments, replying to emails, and saving a received attachment
There will be opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance from one of our friendly tutors.
Although this course does not lead to a qualification, an Eastleigh College certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the course.

This course is a great way to build confidence when using a computer either for home or work, as well as enhancing your employment prospects.
There will be discussion and demonstrations, but the majority of learning will be through 'hands on' experience.

There are no formal entry requirements, all beginners welcome. The course is suitable for all adult learners aged 19 and over.

No additional costs are anticipated in respect of this course.
