This course will open your eyes to the world of Photoshop! Suitable for beginners, it shows you how to achieve stunning results using simple techniques, and will open your imagination to amazing possibilities.

What will I be learning?
Suitable for beginners, this course shows you how to achieve amazing results using simple techniques in Photoshop.
The course will aim to cover the following topics:
* create a tree in two clicks, choosing from 37 different types
* design funky and colourful abstract backgrounds
* add ready-made graphics from a big range of symbols and shapes to your background or pictures
* make logos out of letters, symbols and shapes
* learn to use layers to build a picture
* make objects look miniature in an ordinary photo (and choose the right photo)
* transform your photos into artworks, such as swirly Van Gogh flowers or tinted line drawings
* stitch together lots of shots to produce a Panorama
* add atmosphere to your photos with Bokeh, Lens Flare, and other cool effects
The tutor will also aim to include into the course any requests that you may have.
An Eastleigh College certificate is available on request following completion of the course.
Why is this course for me?
Whether you are a beginner or have some Photoshop skills, this course will show you some of the weird and wonderful things you can achieve! Youll create eye-catching effects without needing in-depth knowledge, but youll build your skills as you go. We take a hands-on approach so that you learn by doing after watching techniques demonstrated using a data projector. There are helpful resources and a knowledgeable tutor to support you, and one-to-one guidance is given.
The college uses Adobe Photoshop CC running on Microsoft Windows PCs. This course is suitable for Mac users since Photoshop is very similar on Macs. Please note that Photoshop Elements is a different product and, although there are similarities, you will need to do some extra work at home to translate between the two.

What do I need to sign up?
The course is suitable for beginners with no prior knowledge of Adobe Photoshop. You do need to understand and carry out basic computer operations, such as drag and drop, clicking drop-down lists, and right-click.
Is there anything else I need to know?
You may wish to bring a pencil and paper to make notes, and a memory stick for saving images that you have worked on. All images are supplied by the tutor. A camera is not needed for this course.
