Last night Eastleigh College's Above Bar Training opened its doors to a variety of Hair and Beauty employers at a bustling champagne launch event. The event marked the official re-launch of the premises under its new management, as well as the start of the delivery of industry specific 1-day training courses for Hair and Beauty professionals.
The evening was enlightened by technical hair demonstrations from MyHairDressers.com's very own Steve Turner, who previewed a variety of cuts and colours live, on various models throughout the evening. He also gave insight into the experience that he has gained over the years, giving invaluable information about the industry for the audience.
A renowned name in the hairdressing world, Steve has worked in the industry since he was 15, including time onThis Morning, The Hairdresser 1 and 2, Celebrity Scissor Hands, and this year also featured in the hit American seriesSplit Ends.
When commenting on the evening Steve noted "It was great to be part of such a fantastic event and to help inspire the next generation of hairdressers! We hope that this will be the start of a great relationship between Above Bar and MyHairdressers.com."
In addition to Steve's presentation, the evening also gave local employers the opportunity to view the modern facilities, as well as technical demonstrations from current beauty students. Guests were treated to Shellac nail art, as well as a variety of displays from the Hair and Media make-up students, which included lifelike scars and wounds, with one female student even donning a beard for the evening!
Steven Vickers, Chief Executive of VTCT, the awarding body for hair and beauty training, also commented "What a fantastic evening! We are very pleased to hear that Eastleigh College have taken over the premises; we have very high hopes for Above Bar, going forward."
