Statement from the Principals of Eastleigh College and Southampton City College:
Eastleigh College and Southampton City College have received news that our request for funding from the Government to support the planned merger has not been approved.
Whilst this decision is disappointing for both parties, it will not impact either college’s mission to continue delivering quality educational outcomes.
We put our students at the heart of all we do and will continue to do so as we move forward. We would like to reassure students, staff and parents that this decision will not affect the delivery of any of our courses and the Government has assured us it is committed to ensuring further education provision in Southampton.
Dr Jan Edrich, Principal, Eastleigh College

Enterprising learners gain valuable work experience during lockdown
Enterprising learners across Eastleigh College have continued to gain valuable work experience while adhering to the Covid-19 safety restrictions that have been put in place by both the college and employers. As well as gaining extra skills, the work experience helps to enhance learning.
Fairtrade Fortnight website provides wealth of resources for school pupils
A team of Eastleigh College learners has launched a dedicated website to promote a range of fun and inspiring educational online events and activities for children and young adults to raise awareness of Fairtrade during Fairtrade Fortnight (22 Feb - 9 March). Schools, colleges, community groups and home-schooling parents are all being invited to use the resources including quiz nights, interactive learning sessions and a Fairtrade bake off competition as part of the work experience element of their course.
