East Avenue Restaurant officially opens!

Eastleigh College are proud to announce the launch of their new training restaurant - East Avenue!

East Avenue is part of a major £12 million redevelopment project at the College, which includes a new Advanced Technology Centre for engineering and construction, new facilities for the teaching of Art and Design and Hair and Beauty, in addition to the expansion of the training kitchens and the new restaurant itself.

Dr Jan Edrich, Eastleigh College Chief Executive and Principal, commented “We are absolutely delighted to have secured funding for these state-of-the-art facilities; they will offer our students a fantastic environment in which to learn.”

East Avenue, previously The Red Carpet, has been completely renovated and now boasts an attractive and sophisticated design. The food is meticulously prepared by the College’s own Hospitality and Catering students, and gives them real-world experience creating and serving dishes to customers.

Customers who have already dined at the new restaurant commented:


"First impressions are very good. When you come up the stairs it looks like a proper restaurant, it's beautiful. This is much better for students as this is the sort of environment they aspire to; it better resembles what they'll experience in the real world. We have eaten a guinea fowl salad and smoked salmon starters, and we've ordered pork loin for our main dish. We have just come back from holiday in France, and we must say - this food is on par!"

Highlights from the new, three-course Autumn menu include Pan-fried Cod Supreme, Tandoori Marinated Pork Fillet, and a Pea, Feta and Mint Mille-Feuille. Bookings are already available for Christmas lunch and dinner, which include Champagne Sorbet and traditional Christmas Pudding desserts.
