Extra small group tuition introduced to boost learning

In recognition of the impact that last March's Covid-19 lockdown may have had on learners, Eastleigh College has introduced a variety of extra support including additional small group tuition. This is just part of our commitment to ensure all learners have maximum opportunity to achieve their qualifications.

Six new governors bring added expertise to governing board

Eastleigh College has appointed six new governors, complementing and strengthening an already successful existing board only two weeks after launching our ambitious 2020-2024 strategy. The governing board, which guides and monitors the strategic direction of the college, now boasts additional expertise from a range of corporate areas as well as the public sector.

Student-focused principal retires from Hampshire college

Eastleigh College’s Chief Executive and Principal, Dr Jan Edrich, is retiring following three decades working in Further Education. Jan has witnessed much change in the sector since her first teaching role, but has always strived to make a real and meaningful difference for all learners, an ethos which has underpinned each role in her 30-year career.

BTEC and Core Maths Results Update

Centre assessment grades will be communicated with all learners via email on Friday 28th August 2020. Where learners have already received BTEC level 3 qualification results, we will only communicate where a grade has been changed. We would like to reassure all learners that grades will not go down.

BTEC Results Update

Following the announcement that all A level and GCSE learners are to be awarded Centre Assessment Grades Pearson have reviewed the impact this may have on BTEC learners, and their grades, and will therefore be reviewing BTEC qualifications. If you were a BTEC level 3 learner in 2019-20, qualification grades will be reviewed and communicated as soon as possible should there be a change. No learners grade will go down as part of this review. If you were a BTEC level 1 or 2 learner in 2019-20 and expecting to receive your results this week your results will not now be released until the grading review has taken place. Find out more.

GCSE Results Update

On Monday 17th August, Ofqual announced that they will award grades on the basis of what teachers submitted. We will be emailing all GCSE results to learners on Thursday 20th August, the grade given will represent the highest grade awarded by the extraordinary assessment processes put in place to award grades this summer.
