Work Experience Administration Assistant 

 

Salary: £10,737 per annum (£17,895 FTE pro rata’d)

Hours: 22.2 per week (0.6FTE)

Start Date: September 2020

Closing Date: 21st September 2020

A day in the life of…..

A typical college day can look very different from one day to the next, so being adaptable is vital to this role.

Day to day duties will include speaking with employers, students or tutors either by phone, email or face to face, inputting students on to databases and offering admin support to the work placement coordinator/officer.

It would also include assisting students with obtaining placements, supporting with CV writing and improving interview skills.

 

Skills/experience required:

 

The ideal candidate would work well as part of a team, have excellent interpersonal skills and have previous experience of using Microsoft IT packages.

It would be advantageous to have previous experience within a customer facing role/working with young people.

 

Qualifications required:

 Maths and English grade C/4 and proficient in using Microsoft IT packages.

 

Ideal attributes of applicant:

For this role the ideal candidate would be comfortable engaging with young people and supporting them prior to their work placement in various capacities.

They would be highly organised, enthusiastic, work well under pressure and willing to assist the team with other duties (such as admin support and assist with presentations the work experience team deliver).

They would be comfortable speaking on the phone, writing emails and working with new database systems.

During peak periods, working outside usual hours may be required so being flexible to meet business needs would be required.

 The ideal candidate would also need to understand the value in work placements and the role this plays developing a student’s understanding of their chosen industry.
