Student Finance Officer (MAT Cover)

Salary: £11,694.60 pro rata (£19,491 - 1.0 FTE)

Hours: 22.2 hours per week (0.6 FTE)

Fixed Term / Part Time

Start date: ASAP

A day in the life of…..

Our student finance officer is the face to face contact for learners, discussing financial support and answering their questions and enquires. Based in our Learner Hub you will be assessing learners’ bursary applications and ensuring they are clear about the support they are entitled to. Supporting learners with their online and paper applications. You will need to work closely with travel companies to order public transport passes in a timely manner. You will also need to raise purchase orders and set up payments for the weekly/termly bursaries for the main finance team to action. You will work closely with the safeguarding and learner mentor team making them aware of any learners whose circumstances have changed or who may need additional support.

 Skills/experience required:

Experience of working with young people, experience of working in the education sector, knowledge of Microsoft Teams/outlook/excel and word is essential. Knowledge of Pay my student would be highly desirable.

Qualifications required:

GCSE English and Mathematics (grade A*  to C) or equivalent Level 2 qualifications.

Ideal attributes of applicant:

Ability to engage with young people, enthusiastic and organised. Able to prioritise workload and willing to undergo further training and development.
