Plumbing Trainer

Salary: £25,966 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)

Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Full Time

The Plumbing and Gas department is in an exciting time of expansion with growing numbers and new curriculum opportunities. The Plumbing team have seen a steady increase in numbers of full-time, Part time and apprenticeship learners.  The area offers programmes from Level 1 to Level 3 and various part-time adult provisions in Plumbing and Gas.  The College has excellent facilities and a dedicated Gas Assessment Centre.

A day in the life of…

As the Plumbing Trainer you will assist in providing an effective and responsive support for staff and learners in the learning area of Technology.

You will carry out general maintenance checks on equipment and construct, install, maintain and modify training and assessment areas within the workshops. You will be responsible for sourcing best prices for resources and equipment and build positive relationships with manufacturers.

The successful candidate will have effective communication and customer care skills, an excellent knowledge of the plumbing industry or related qualification and relevant industrial experience.  Some evening work may be required.

Skills/experience required:

Working with young people, experience of working in a Plumbing related industry, knowledge of Microsoft IT packages, price negotiations and be a supportive member of a team.

Qualifications required:

  • GCSE in English & Maths at grade C/4 and above or equivalent level 2 qualification.
  • ACS qualification
  • NVQ level 2/3 in Plumbing or C&G craft/advanced craft in Plumbing or related craft

Comfortable talking and engaging with young people, highly organised, professional and enthusiastic, keen interest in plumbing and willing to undergo further training and development
