Lecturer in Computer Science

Salary: Up to £23,811 per annum, pro rata (unqualified teacher status)

             Up to £34,917 per annum/ pro rata (qualified teacher status)

Hours: 37 per week

Full Time / Fixed Term until July 2022 (potential for permanent dependant on expected departmental growth)

Start date: December 2021

A day in the life of…..

We require a team player with a dynamic and innovative approach in teaching to join our Computer Science department.  You will be required to teach both full and part-time students from Levels 2 - 5 and should have good knowledge of the computing industry including as many of the following as possible: Programming in C++/ C# /Python or similar, networks, cyber security, computer architecture and app development. You will be delivering vocational courses to both school leavers and adults.

Skills/experience required:

You must have skills and ability with Object Oriented Programming. It would be desirable for the applicant to have skills in the use of modern game engines such as Unreal Engine or. Although a Fully Qualified Teacher would be ideal for this position we would also consider someone passionate about the subject with the will to pass this knowledge on to others. Teacher training courses can be offered on-site to the right applicant.

Qualifications required:

  • GCSE English and Mathematics (grade A* to C) or equivalent Level 2 qualifications
  • Degree in related subject
  • Teachers certificate or training qualification desirable

You must be highly motivated, work well in a team and be interested in supporting students to reach their desired goal.
