Learning Support Assistant
Salary: £7341.60 pro rata (£18,942 per annum FTE)
Hours: 18.5 hours per week, 36 weeks per year
Fixed Term Contract until 8th July 2022
Start date: September 2021

- 1:1 LSA in Motor Vehicle
- 1:1 LSA in Plumbing
A day in the life of…..
Eastleigh College is a General Further Education College offering a variety of vocational courses to full and part time learners from level 1 to level 7. You will be supporting students with a variety of learning and physical needs which may include dyslexia, hearing impairments, Autism, SEMH, etc. You will need to have a keen interest in working in this field and may already have experience in supporting students in a classroom, 1:1 and / or small group environments.
You will already be, or show potential of becoming an excellent classroom practitioner, supporting young people with their studies, in a variety of settings. Able to establish constructive relationships with students and teachers, promote the inclusion and acceptance of all, while setting challenging and demanding expectations. Supporting students with a variety of learning needs including Autism/Asperger's, challenging behaviour or emotional needs in a variety of vocational subject areas would also be particularly welcome. Knowledge of Education Health and Care Plans and their requirements would be desirable.
You must hold a minimum of English and Maths GCSE’s (C or above), or the equivalent Level 2 functional skills qualification.
