Early Years Lecturer

Salary: £22,484 - £34,917 per annum (dependant on qualifications and experience)

Hours: 37 hours per week

Full Time/Fixed Term

A day in the life of…..

Arrive between 8:00-8:30am to make sure resources and classroom are set up, ready to teach. Most classes start at 9.00. Some classes at the moment will be taught online and still need to be planned for. The first task each day is to settle the learners, registration and identifying the learning aims and outcomes. Each session will require formative assessment throughout to ascertain the learners engagement and progressing throughout the lesson. A lecturer has to think on their feet and work out how best to tweak things for the next session. Then there’s always marking!

Skills/experience required:

For this role you will need to be a good communicator as well as preferably Teaching or Nursery teaching experience. As you will be doing some online teaching you will need to have good IT skills working with Google as well as Microsoft. 

You will need to be able to plan engaging and innovative lessons which will encourage participation and high level achievement in our learners. 

You will need to have good behaviour management skills and an empathetic nature.   

Qualifications required:

Level 3 or above in Childcare

Desired Qualifications required:

Primary Teaching Qualification and experience.

Cert Ed or above

Ideal attributes of applicant:

Sense of humour. Comfortable talking and engaging with young people, highly organised, enthusiastic, keen interest in a particular area/industry, willing to undergo further training and development.
