Salary: £11,905.50 pro rata (£23,811 FTE) per annum

Hours: 18.5

Part-Time (0.5 FTE) / Fixed Term until 31st August 2021

A day in the life of…..

Eastleigh College funds apprentices and adults in a large variety of subject areas, both internally and externally via our subcontractor network.  Eastleigh College is looking to appoint a Compliance Officer to join our Quality, Compliance and Improvement Team, with the general purpose of monitoring training provision and liaising with subcontractors to ensure a high quality learning experience for all students whilst maintaining compliance with the ESFA funding rules.

Reporting progress most days to the manager of ‘Quality and Compliance’ and under their direction, you will be responsible for calling samples of learners from those live on courses/programmes, and recording and monitoring outcomes of progress and satisfaction and adherence with ESFA funding rules per stream. You will be responsible for the writing up, storing and disseminating of audit reports; frequency of audits will be dependent upon risk. As part of this role you will work closely with the teaching and learning quality team to escalate instances of poor quality and assist with routine quality audits where required.

Skills/experience required:

Experience of working in a compliance role within further education or an independent training provider and understanding of ESFA funding rules for both Apprenticeships and the Adult Education Budget (AEB) will be an advantage. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Knowledge and use of e-portfolios systems and MIS systems such as the Pro Suite or provider learner database is desirable.

Desirable Skills:

Confident user of Word and Excel (some formulae)

Good, confident interpersonal communication skills at all levels - basic skills learner to senior staff

Recent awareness and experience of formal further education and training and ESFA funding or quality in England

Recent further education or schools employment experience

Qualifications required:

Level 2 maths and English (e.g. GCSE C/4 plus)

ICT desirable Level 2

Substantive Level 3 Qualification/s (BTEC/NVQ Diploma/A levels) desirable

Ideal attributes of applicant:

Comfortable talking and engaging with young people, highly organised, enthusiastic, willing to undergo further training and development, passion for learner achievement, Keen eye for detail, Completer/finisher, ability to work self-directed where required – planning priorities to meet overall targets, Self-confidence and initiative, able to provide clearly feedback to a multitude of key stakeholders and create action plans.
