Coronavirus Update

Eastleigh College is now closed to the vast majority of learners and has now moved to online learning. The College remains open for 16-18 year old learners of key workers, and those learners with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). However for both categories, learners are asked to stay at home where it is safe to do so. Consistent with public health advice, learners and staff are asked to follow public health guidance and the steps outlined via the 'read more' button.

Assessor in Professional Studies

Salary: £24,504 (per annum/pro rata)

Hours: up to 37 hours per week

Full-Time or Part-Time

Start date: ASAP

Closing Date: 23rd March

Interview Date: 2nd April (provisional date) 

A day in the life of…..

As a professional studies assessor you will manage your own diary in relation to your caseload. You will support and assess learners in a variety of qualifications from level 2 customer service to level 5 Management, enabling them to achieve their relevant qualifications and standards.

This will be achieved by visiting, observing, marking, and managing your learners, following all college policies, procedures and by undertaking relevant training and updates.

Engaging with employers to support the learner journey, develop, and build new business contacts.

Days will vary depending on diaries and learners needs.


Skills/experience required:

We are looking for a driven and committed individual who can actively contribute to the College’s vision.

You will possess excellent teaching, learning and assessment skills with good working knowledge and understanding of the industry and applicable qualification specifications.

A good working knowledge of leading, supporting a team and providing an excellent level of customer service within industry is essential.

Working with and supporting learners within their workplaces using a wide range of assessment tools to obtain relevant qualifications.


Qualifications required:

  • C or above in GCSE English and Maths (or level 2 equivalent)
  • TAQA or assessors qualification
  • Applicants must have appropriate qualifications in Business or Management to at least a level 4 level 5 and IQA would be desirable.
