Adult and Community Learning Manager

Salary:     £31,019 per annum

Hours:     37 per week

 A day in the life of the ACL Manager Involves:

  • Managing and leading a team of adult and community learning officers and expert tutors delivering a diverse leisure and community learning programme
  • Being proactive and innovative to ensure the curriculum evolves to meet the needs of the local community
  • Managing key priorities and ensuring all stakeholders have the best experience possible
  • Evaluating key performance indicators and reporting back to colleagues and senior managers
  • Developing partnerships and attending networking opportunities with community partners
  • Reacting to feedback, complaints and compliments promptly to resolve any actions in a positive manner
  • Enhancing the reputation of the College in the local community


Skills/experience required:

  •  Experience of leading and managing a team delivering a responsive and broad curriculum
  • Ability to develop a new and innovative curriculum offer which responds to and meets community needs
  • Experience maintaining and implementing quality control processes within a curriculum delivery environment
  • Experience of growing and leading leisure based programmes
  • Experience of developing strong networks within the community, with external organisations and with partner organisations
  • Knowledge of national and local policies related to Adult and Community Learning
  • Budget management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Qualifications required:

  • A Level or equivalent Level 3 qualifications
  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Mathematics
  • A teaching qualification
  • Desirably a Degree in related discipline
