From 1982 –1985, Alison studied Accounting and Business Management at Eastleigh College and feels that the college played an instrumental part in her education and consequently her career. Alison’s early career started in Eastleigh with British Rail Engineering working in finance from 1982-1990.

She then moved to roles with Southampton City Council then Southampton University in finance roles, progressing to a position of Deputy Manager-Careers Destinations.

In 2015 Alison moved to Quilley School as School Business Manager, and 2016 to Crestwood College as Community manager.

At Henry Beaufort School Alison is responsible for all aspects of non-teaching activities within the school and as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, develops strategies to ensure sustainable and affordable improvements, ensuring an affordable yet effective curriculum plan. Alison has been responsible for introducing employer engagement to the school to improve income generation and outcomes for students. She has experience through her work in developing school career fair to promote career options and awareness in a diverse selection of local and national employers, apprenticeship providers and educational institutions. Alison has been a secondary school Governor at Quilley School of Engineering since 2001 and Chair of the Governing Body 2005-2015.
