For 60 years we have supported learners, whether adult, school leaver or apprentice to achieve their ambitions through our wide range of excellent programmes. We continue to strive for this with our ambitious strategy for the period 2020-24 that sets out the College’s priorities to see more learners, be more successful, more often.

Luke Haile -  ACR Trainee of the Year Award - National ACR & Heat Pump Awards

Luke Haile, an Eastleigh College apprentice who works for Lightfoot Defence Ltd, won the ACR Trainee of the Year award at the National ACR & Heat Pump Awards in Manchester. Luke has developed into a very confident young man who works well under pressure on his own and with colleagues. He is self-motivated and has shown that he adapts well to different challenges and environments through his day-to-day work and his journey through College and onsite training. Luke is very ambitious and determined to succeed, yet humble with it. It seems that once he has set his eyes on something, he puts his all into achieving it.

Lucas Renyard -  NCFE Aspiration Awards 2021 - Against All Odds

Judges in the 2021 NCFE Aspiration Awards selected Lucas Renyard from Eastleigh College as the winner of the ‘Against All Odds’ category, which recognises exceptional learners who have overcome difficult personal circumstances to achieve success in education.

Andrew Urben - BTEC Business and Enterprise Learner of the Year 2021 Bronze Award

Andrew Urben, a second year learner at Eastleigh College, received a bronze award for BTEC Business and Enterprise Learner of the Year 2021 at the annual BTEC Awards. His outstanding achievements are among inspiring stories from more than 700 BTEC learners, tutors, teachers, schools and colleges from over 30 countries to be recognised and celebrated in the competition.

Catering Team at Eastleigh College - Pearson National Teaching Silver Award 2021 FE Team of the Year

Selected from thousands of nominations from schools and colleges across the country, the Hospitality and Catering Team at Eastleigh College has been honoured as one of 102 Pearson National Teaching Silver Award winners. The team was honoured with a Silver Award in The Award for FE Team of the Year for their outstanding commitment to changing the lives of the young people they work with every day.

NCFD FREDIE Awards 2021

The recent NCFD FREDIE Awards put Eastleigh College in 48th place in the Top 100 Most Inclusive Workplaces Index 2021. As a result, the College began working with the National Centre for Diversity (NCFD) in 2020 to further embed its workplace values of ambition, respect, resilience and professionalism in all college activities.

The NCFD organises the index based on evidence of participating employers' commitment to the 'FREDIEs', which are the values of Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement. Employers span the private, public, education and charity sectors.

Hampshire Education Awards 2021

Eastleigh College's Trudy McKenzie is the only careers advisor in Hampshire recognised for her excellence and achievements at the third annual Hampshire Education Awards. Hampshire County Council runs the awards to recognise and celebrate the contributions of staff and volunteers, which ultimately have a discernible impact on learners across Hampshire's education system. Trudy, who has worked at Eastleigh College for seven years, was announced the 'Futures Award' winner at a virtual ceremony.

Cooling Industry's Annual Awards 2020

A refrigeration engineering apprentice at Eastleigh College has been named 'National Student of the Year' at the cooling industry's annual awards. Nineteen-year-old Luke Haile, who is in his second year of a three-year Engineering Technician advanced apprenticeship with Fareham-based Lightfoot Defence Ltd.

Pearson National Teaching Awards 2020

Hospitality & Catering Team and Jules Vince, Teacher Training lecturer, have received excellence certificates from The Pearson National Teaching Awards. For 'Further Education Team of the Year' and 'Further Education Lecturer of the Year' respectively, their certificates provided a real boost to all the teaching professionals working at Eastleigh College at the end of an extraordinary and challenging term!

Quality in Careers Standard 2020

Eastleigh College is the first and only technical and professional College in Hampshire to achieve the new national Quality in Careers Standard, awarded by Investor in Careers. The accreditation followed 15 months of assessment and scrutiny. By meeting eight career guidance benchmarks - known as the Gatsby Benchmarks - Eastleigh College has been recognised for the inclusive and career-focused education it provides.  

ACC Apprenticeship Awards 2020

Eastleigh College has been named a winner at the high profile ACC Apprenticeship Awards 2020, recognising leading education and training providers across the UK.

Representatives from the College attended a celebratory ceremony alongside other shortlisted training providers. They were delighted to be announced the winner of the 'SEND Apprenticeship Champion Award'.

ACR & Heat Pump Annual Awards 2020

Eastleigh College's excellent apprenticeship provision, as well as our collaborative employer, won us the title of 'Training Provider of the Year' at the National ACR & Heat Pump annual awards.

Award sponsor, ACR Journal, highlighted: "Eastleigh College works with industry to provide students with up-to-date equipment to work on. For example, Fujitsu UK uses the College to provide bespoke training not just for their clients but also other students on Fujitsu AC systems after donating several systems, and other organisations are looking to set up similar arrangements."

National ACR' Trainee of the Year' awards 2019

Eastleigh College's James Lopes, an engineering apprenticeship with air conditioning and refrigeration specialists, Scotford & Teasdale, has gained recognition at the industry's National ACR' Trainee of the Year' awards.


Association of Colleges Beacon Commended Colleges

Eastleigh College is delighted to have been awarded AOC - Association of Colleges - Beacon Status in two areas, recognising its excellent support for students and the College's work with employers, providing professional training and delivering skills to help grow the economy.

RCU Award for Support for Students 2019

The RCU Award for Support for Students looks for the provision that is above and beyond the norm across various areas, including tailored, quality teaching to meet learners needs, providing a wide variety of opportunities and experiences, and enabling sustained and successful involvement of students in the workplace.

City and Guilds Award for College Engagement with Employers 2019

The City and Guilds Award for College Engagement with Employers recognises exemplary practice in responding to the needs of employers, demonstrating outstanding ability and a high level of innovation, impact and sustainability.

Craft Guild of Chefs Honours and Awards 2019

Eastleigh Colleges' Hospitality and the Catering department were awarded the Chairman's Shield at the Craft Guild of Chefs Honours and Awards. The prestigious event, which took place at the Victory Services Club in London, recognised its members' exceptional commitment and outstanding contributions over the past 12 months, with all of the winners nominated for demonstrating excellence within their chosen categories.
