National Apprenticeship Week will take place from Monday 1st February to Friday 5th February and Eastleigh College will be celebrating the talent and skills of its current Apprentices as well as highlighting the range of Apprenticeships and the benefits of the programmes to employers.

The Apprenticeship team will be offering a Free Apprenticeship Clinic throughout the week, inviting local employers to discuss the range of apprenticeships available through the College. The Apprenticeship team will also be on hand this week to talk to any young people interested in starting an Apprenticeship with Eastleigh College in 2010.

The College's Hair and Beauty students will be opening up the Essence@Eastleigh Beauty Salon to members of the Riverside Club, a Bishopstoke Age Concern club Monday 1st February. Visitors have been invited to take part in a morning full of free pampering. Sessions include manicures and hair treatments and guests will be served refreshments while they wait.

Matthew Phelps, Head of Workforce & Business Development at the College, said, "Apprenticeship Week is designed to celebrate the success of Apprenticeships and demonstrate their benefit to businesses of all shapes and sizes. Our ambition is to encourage more employers to take on Apprentices and more young people to consider an Apprenticeship as it makes good economic sense."
