Pamela Wilson, owner and manager of Tonic Beauty Boutique in Southampton, and ex-student of Beauty at Eastleigh College, has reason to celebrate this year as the boutique reached finalist status for two renowned Beauty Awards.
In an economy where small businesses are struggling to survive more than ever before, it takes that something special for one to be doing so well.
The British Beauty & Spa Awards, which were launched in 1997 to raise the profile of the professional beauty industry by recognising and rewarding innovation and excellence, recognised Tonic Beauty Boutique as one of the top seven salons in the London and South East category for 2009. As if that wasn't enough, they have also been recognised as finalists in the Professional Beauty Awards 2010.
Pamela is understandably over the moon with the salon's success:
"This has been an incredible year for the salon. To be recognised amongst your peers as being one of the country's leading salons is both a wonderful feeling and a great achievement."
Pamela and her Head Therapist, Sophie Bingham, both started off their beauty career path by studying full-time Beauty Therapy courses at Eastleigh College. Pamela then went on to study a part-time massage course, also at the College.
Zoe Huggins, Eastleigh College Learning Manager for Hairdressing and Beauty commented:
"It's always fantastic to hear about the successes of our past students. I'd like to personally congratulate Pamela and her team and wish them all the best for the future."
