Rising Star Receives London Scholarship

George Slade

George Slade, a recent graduate of the BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts at Eastleigh College has been awarded a scholarship to attend a top London performing arts academy. The Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts was founded in 1911 and is Britain's oldest theatre arts training school.

Alexandra Moon, the Performing Arts Course Manager at Eastleigh College is extremely proud to see one of her students achieving a place at such a prestigious academy and commented:

"George has worked consistently hard throughout the BTEC course and we wish him all the best in his further studies. I am sure that with his talent and determination he will be gracing the London stage before long!"

George's favourite performance during his time at Eastleigh College was playing Ernest in the end of year play, 'Confusions'. His words of wisdom to future students on the BTEC course are to keep up to date with the written work and of course to enjoy themselves!

George is taking his first step towards stardom in his stride and exudes confidence when talking about his talent. He has been a popular student at the College, commenting that his favourite part of the BTEC course has been the people he worked with. George doesn't aspire to be like any particular existing performer, preferring to aim towards success in his own right on the West End Stage.
