Cars go green at Eastleigh College

Eastleigh College's Automotive department is hosting a 'Reduce Your Car's Carbon Footprint' day on Wednesday 11th March to encourage local drivers to go green.

In conjunction with ASNU (as new), the leading manufacturer of car injector servicing equipment, the College is looking for members of the public with cars over five years old to take part in the programme. All eligible cars will receive a free 'injector value clean' which will not only reduce emissions but should also greatly improve fuel economy.

Mike Driscoll, Learning Manager for the Automotive department commented "No only are you helping save the environment by having a cleaner running engine, but you are also saving yourself money on petrol. That's got to be a good for everyone."

The day is part of a wider programme being rolled out across the UK designed to see how much exhaust pollution can be reduced by cleaning fuel injection systems. All vehicles will be inspected by Eastleigh's workshop technician, James Francis for suitability prior to being accepted on the programme - typically, vehicles aged between 1996 and 2002 are required (petrol engines only).

To book in your vehicle for an initial inspection, please contact James Francis, Eastleigh College Automotive Technician, on 023 8091 1075 or e-mail autoservice@eastleigh.ac.uk.

Places are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis.
