Olympic Dance Company work with Eastleigh College

Students at Eastleigh College jumped at the chance to work in a series of workshops with the world renown dance company, CandoCo. A wide range of students took part including, BTEC First and National Diploma in Performing Arts, Skills for working life, The Foundation Course and School Links. Students worked with dancers in mixed groups, creating choreography based around the work of Hofesh Schecter. A performance of Schecter's work, 'The Perfect Body,' recently premiered at The Point in Eastleigh which students also attended.

CandoCo are a contemporary dance company of disabled and non-disabled dancers, who have just come back from performing at the Bejing Olympic and Paralympic opening and closing ceremonies.

Performing Arts Lecturer, April Inglis, said
'This was a fantastic opportunity for Eastleigh College students to work with one of the most professional dance company's in the world. It was good to see so many students working together on different levels and with mixed abilities. The workshops allow students to see dance in a completely different light.'
