The Eastleigh Football Club College Scholarship programme is currently benefiting from some expert coaching in the form of Saints legend Jason Dodd. The former defender, whose association with Southampton Football Club stretched from 1989 to 2008 as player, head coach and finally caretaker manager, has recently been seen laughing and joking with the Eastleigh academy players as they took part in a game of head tennis, an exercise designed to work on their touch. This is part of a series of coaching sessions put on by Jason to improve the experience that the Eastleigh football academy scholars have, whilst on their two year sports studies programme with the College. Jason intends to continue with the regular coaching sessions while completing his current coaching licence course with the Football Association.
Wale Olufunwa, Learning Manager for Sport & Fitness at Eastleigh College said
'This is an excellent opportunity for the students to develop their skill and practice with a highly experienced player such as Jason.'
