NEWS & EVENTS

Wednesday 8th February saw several hundred future apprentices and their parents attend The Rose Bowl to talk to local colleges and training providers about Apprenticeships, and to 'Have A Go' at activities that could spark an interest in a career they hadn't previously considered.
Eastleigh College Training Agency (ECTA) laid on two activities for the visitors; mixing glass ionomer cements for dental work and a practical exercise on how modern plumbing systems are installed.
The event proved a success for both visitors and exhibitors, with Claire Forte from ECTA commenting:
"It was good to see these young people trying all of the activities and getting a taste of industries that perhaps they had not considered before. We aim to match our candidates with an Apprenticeship that will suit both parties, and these taster events are a great opportunity for us to find out a bit more about the candidates."
This event was the second event of its type this year. For information on future events, or details of the range of Apprenticeships on offer at Eastleigh College, contact ECTA directly by email to ecta@eastleigh.ac.uk or call 023 8091 1226.
