Freshers' Fayre

Students have first-class fun at Eastleigh College's 2011 Freshers' Fayre!

Eastleigh College students celebrated their Freshers' Fayre this week, which provided a great opportunity for new students to meet each other through an array of fun activities including a bungee run, surf simulator, climbing wall, 5-a-side football tournament and human demolition.

Students were treated to food and drinks, as well as live music from local rock band, Summers, covering tracks such as Bon Jovi and playing some of their own original songs.

Jason Sepala, guitarist said:

"We thoroughly enjoyed the day, the student audience created such an electric atmosphere which was great, we would definitely do it again!"

There was also the opportunity for new students to find out about the range of student services that Eastleigh College has to offer, as well as exhibitions from numerous universities, community facilities such as Fleming Park Leisure Centre, The Royal Navy and many more.

A highlight of the day was an energetic dance performance from Eastleigh College's Dance students. They performed a lively and dynamic performance to Usher's popular song 'OMG', which included break dancing and karate moves!

Natasha Turpitt, a first year Beauty Level 3 student said:
"The day has been a lot of fun; I had a go on the surf simulator which was a good laugh, and I'm looking forward to seeing Summers perform next. I am really looking forward to starting my beauty course and meeting my new class mates this week."
