Eastleigh College Level 3 Floristry students completed their floral artistry assignments by decorating the College's Red Carpet restaurant with themed flower displays over three weeks. The students chose from three themes: wedding, gala or seasonal.
The first display created by florists Ann-Marie Norwood, Meggan Walder and Tahli Easterbrook, showcased a traditional English tea wedding, which featured delicate decorative cupcake flowers and pastel coloured flowers, adorning an archway to the restaurant. Attention to detail really shone through, as the room was completely transformed and all set for a tasteful wedding reception.
The second themed display was a Casino gala, designed by Charlotte Young and Sally Skinner, featuring royal red flowers, including roses, tulips and poppies. Attention to detail shone through, with the main table decorated to a high standard, including details such as crystals, stylish plates, tea light candles and fancy napkins, along with the stunning floral arrangement, transformed the restaurant. Charlotte said:
"I am really pleased with how it turned out, it's actually better than I imagined it to be!"
The last functional floral display was inspired by Spring. Florists Serena Elvin, Amy Lavin and Janelle Quitman transformed the room into an Easter themed delight, with decorative rabbits, eggs and chocolate. The use of Spring colours such as green, pink, yellow and blue gave the room a fresh and colourful atmosphere. Janelle said:
"We created this spring themed event to be suitable for a children's charity fundraiser, because children love the excitement of an Easter egg hunt. Over the past three weeks we have all gained a personal satisfaction from completing the challenges of our floral artistry assignments, and we are very pleased with the results."
