Eastleigh College Announced in the Top 100 Again!

Eastleigh College Announced in the Top 100 Again!

Eastleigh College is delighted to announce its position as one of the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Places to Work For in the Public and Charity Sectors List 2011. At an impressive National Awards Ceremony at London's Battersea Evolution, the College was unveiled in 87th position on the prestigious list, making it the top College in the South of England.

This announcement ends months of anticipation by the Eastleigh College employees, the majority of whom were asked to take part in a workforce engagement survey, which questioned how they felt about such things as their own personal growth at the College, as well as the leadership that was given to them whilst going about their daily roles.

This survey was conducted by Best Companies Ltd, an independent and authoritative research company who specialise in workplace engagement. The company surveyed 50,000 employees, evaluating key statistics, processes and policies, before whittling down the final Top 100. This year, only ten colleges across the UK made the Best Companies list, making Eastleigh College's achievement even more special.

Jonathan Austin, Founder and CEO of Best Companies, the name behind The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For lists, said:
'I am delighted that you have achieved a place on this year's list. You should be truly proud that your employees and colleagues recognise you as a 'Best Place to Work'.'

College staff scored the highest in the 'My Manager' factor of the survey, which includes feeling supported, trusted and cared for by their immediate manager. It was found that Eastleigh College staff feel appreciated by their line managers, and have confidence in their leadership skills.

Tony Lau-Walker, Chief Executive at the College, said:
'We are delighted with Eastleigh College's position on the Sunday Times Best Company survey for the second year running. The merging of the Public Sector list with the Third Sector list makes this year's achievement even better than last year, as the College competed with big name charities, such as UNICEF, WWF, Salvation Army and Mencap. College staff can be proud that their contribution has made the College one of the 'Best Places to Work' in the UK.'
