Governing Body

Introductory statement on Eastleigh College Governing Body

Eastleigh College has a Governing Body which guides and monitors the strategic direction of the College.

The Governors are professional people from different walks of industry outside the College, with a variety of skills and expertise. The Governors have close working links with the College's senior management, but are not involved in the day to day operation of the College.

Staff and student representatives are also involved in the Governing Body.

It is Eastleigh College's wish that information about the governance of the College be included on the public website in a drive towards greater openness. All except the most confidential information will be included on the website so that it is in the public domain.

Governors also have access to a secure intranet where they can access governor training materials and confidential information

Meetings are generally open to any person who wishes to observe the meetings, although some items may be classified as ‘confidential’. Should any non governor wish to attend a meeting, please contact the Clerk or Deputy Clerk for venue and seating arrangements to be made (see 'Contacts' ).
