What is Skills Support for Redundancy?
This initiative, funded by the European Social Fund (ESF), is designed to support those in the redundancy process to up-skill or re-train, to support them in finding post-redundancy employment.
The initiative aims to support local communities, by providing advice and relevant training, including accredited qualifications in some cases, that relate to local skills requirements and job vacancies.
Who is eligible for funding?
This ESF initiative provides, wherever possible, full funding for anyone aged 18 or above, from the following three groups of people:
- Those under consultation of redundancy
- Those under notice of redundancy
- Those given notification by their employer of likely downsizing or company closure
What support is available?
Local businesses have already taken advantage of our courses in the following areas:
- Institute of Leadership & Management (Level 2/3)
- Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS)
- IT Training (Microsoft Packages etc.)
- Sage accounting
- Customer Service
- Employability Skills
- Project Management
- First Aid
- Food Hygiene
In addition to these courses, we can tailor our training programmes to your specific organisation and employees in the following areas:

- Self-employment and business start-up
- Skills for Life
Courses are either held at Eastleigh College or, subject to
numbers, may also be available for delivery in your workplace at a
time convenient to you.
